Freshman Year and Other Unnatural Disasters

I know its been a really long time since I've done a book review but I did one today just because I had time. I know it's not on a Friday but here's the last book review of the year.

My Synopsis: This book is about a girl and her group of friends who are entering high school (as you can tell by the title) and she plans to have a really exciting year but it doesn't go exactly as she planned...

Review: This was a decent book. I personally would say that it was a typical, predictable teen girl novel, but in that category it was pretty good. I would only recommend it if you had nothing else to read and wanted a quick read. I felt like the book didn't have that many fictional "days," if you know what I mean, but a few extended, detailed event days. All in all it wasn't too bad.
I hope you enjoyed the last review of the year and I will try to post more frequently next year!

Bruschetta Bread Snacks

Hey guys! I know it's been a really, really long time since I've posted, and I'm probably not going to be posting very much, but here's a quick food post to keep you entertained!

A few nights ago, we had a party and made bruschetta, but we bought too much bread and had leftovers. So I made some quick snacks with the leftover bread, which are really easy to make and delicious to eat.

Cream cheese with black pepper sprinkled on top

Nutella with slices of banana

These are really quick and tasty snacks so enjoy!

P.S. I will try to post more often but I probably won't be posting very frequently.

Winter Break DIY's + Makeup & Outfit

I don't celebrate Christmas but I do know a couple of quick DIY's to help you with many Holiday's.
Now I know many people don't have ton's of money to spend on gifts so I came up with some ideas that you can make with simple and cheap items.

1. Beauty Bag

I did something similar to this for my dad's birthday and he loved it so I'm sure many other people would like it too.

In the bag I just put some basic essentials like Aveeno, Shampoo & Conditioner along with some Perfume. The little leaf tag that you see is a leaf with some white out on it stuck on with tape. To make sure it sticks better you can use a glue dot or hot glue.

2. Mini Present Bag

If you really want to customize your gifts on a low budget then you should try these bags out. They're just little painted paper bags. To apply the paint I just used some Q-Tips and if you're working with a little child this might happen.
(it's a person)

To add to the look I added a bow on mine and it actually looked pretty good. Just add a small gift in them and top if off with some wrapping paper and your gift is complete.

3.Little Gifts
Here I have little gifts to give, stick in stockings , or place in the bags above.

Now these aren't exactly gifts but they're really cute things that you can put in/on gifts as a little extra. If you can't find these ( these were given as a gift!) make your own! Just write their name on the front and an inspirational quote on the back and your done.

Here I have the hairpin phone case. You can just buy a cheap phone case from practically anywhere and decorate. All I did here was take a hairpin and remove the pin part of it. Then just hot glue it onto the case.
I myself am recommending this to you. It's a really cute little massager that I got for $5 at walmart. They're really cute and make excellent little gifts. I have a white one and my brother has the blue.

Now for the makeup and the outfit:

Yes, one of my eyes is smaller than the other...
Anyways, all I did for this look was some basic wings  that took me like 15 minutes and and a little bit of gold eyeshadow.

Did you like our poses? Well let me introduce you to my wonderful friend Faiza. I just realized we were wearing similar colours, Anyway, this is one of my favourite outfits to wear to a formal-ish occasion.
What I'm Wearing:

White Scarf - I don't know but I'm pretty sure you can find it anywhere
Striped Blue & White Shirt - Kohl's
Gold Necklace- I don't know but again you can probably find it anywhere
Orange Skirt- Kohl's

I know we haven't been posting a lot but I'm trying, trust me! Check out our latest video on our channel by clicking on the link below!

Peppermint Hot Cocoa

It's December and that means Christmas is right around the corner! Even though we don't celebrate Christmas that holiday spirit still hits us. So, instead of drinking regular Hot Cocoa on the heater I present to you Peppermint Hot Cocoa!

Steps:
1.Take a candy cane and smush it up into little pieces and put it in the bottom of your glass/cup.
2.Add your milk or water and heat it in the microwave
3.Add your hot chocolate powder ( I use the Starbuck's one) and mix
Your little candy cane pieces will stay near the bottom
4.Top it with your whipping cream
5.Enjoy!

DIY Leaf Desk Decor + Quick Suggestion

haven't posted in so long it makes me sad but, the wait is over my friends! After a blogger block I'm back with some ideas and 1 quick suggestion for you guys. Instead of having a Rida's Recommendation post I might just add one every now and then. Anyways, lets get started.
DIY Leaf Desk Decor

I was watching so many decor videos with the holiday season coming up and felt the need to decorate my desk. It was getting so boring and nothing added a slight fall/winter feel. So, I decided to do this.
Steps:
1.Pick a word ( I choose my name, Rida)
2.Gather as many leaves as there are letters in your word
3.Write each letter of your word on a leave in paint ( I used white out)
4.Punch a hole in the leaf. MAKE SURE NOT IN THE MIDDLE SO YOU DON'T BREAK THE LEAF
5.Use some yarn and string your leaves (I used different length yarn pieces)
6. Stick glue dots where you want to hang the leaves and stick the yarn on the glue dots (you can also tape)
7.Enjoy!
Keep in mind this DIY is a temporary DIY. The leaves will either grow old or the yarn will fall of the glue dot.

Quick Suggestion
I have a weird obsession with juices. Whenever we have them in stock in the Lasne Refrigerator I'll always drink some or all.One of the juices that I enjoyed was the Tropicana Farm stand : Peach and Mango. It had a unique taste which I liked. There isn't much to say other than you should try it out!

Hope you guys liked this post!

I'll try to post more!
