Simple Face Wash Review!

Hey everybody! So today I'm going to be reviewing the Simple sensitive skin experts foaming cleanser. This is a fabulous product. It makes my skin feel clean and also removes oil from your skin. I had the problem where there would be a lot of oil by the side of my nose and when I wiped that area I could feel the oil. This lead me to but this face wash. I use it after school and when I take showers so twice a day!

Hope you guys liked this short review!

Doctor Who Series 8 Episode 6 Review

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Episode 6: The Caretaker

This episode was pretty good. It was just one of those episodes... It was funny, especially the part where the Doctor thinks the other guy is Clara's boyfriend. He kind of did look like Matt Smith though... I don't know if this was just me but it kind of felt like there wasn't that much content in this episode, yet there was. I do hope Danny goes on adventures with them. I know he is a new companion but like... yeah anyway the ending gave even more hints for the "Promised Land"/ Heaven thing which is exciting and I can't wait to learn more about.

Hope you liked the review! Comment and tell us your thoughts on this episode!

Whats in my beauty bag?

My Beauty Bag was gifted to me by a friend about 4 years ago and I've just started using it this past year.

The Overall Inside View

The first 3 items are mostly used during traveling and are my Banana Boat sunscreen stick but I did n't know what to call it so I just labeled it sunbalm because I accidently tore of the labeling :/. The next is the Pond's magic powder and when I'm hot and sweaty and my face looks all messed up just dry it off a bit and then apply this and it makes my face look less crappy. (yayy!) Lastly, I have some Germ-x  just to fight off those icky germs.

Here I have my Pond's cream,Johnson's baby lotion and the Gold bond ultimate healing with aloe cream. I never wear cream, which needs to change, but still carry it incase my skin starts to burn or just feels really itchy.
Next, I have my Body Essentials Pink Sweet Pea fantasy which smells really nice! Whenever I have to rush out the door I just grab this and spray it as I go or stash it into my bag thanks to it's compact size. This was gifted so I don't know alot except that this smells amazing!

Here I just have some Nivea lip butter to replace my usual eos.
I've got some band-aids for those awkward clumsy moments we all have and some tissues because of those unexpected runny noses or to aid with your lunch when you don't have a proper napkin. :)

I  also keep some hair ties and pins just incase I'm  on the move with wet hair which you shouldn't dry or I                                                                  just need my hair up.
I  keep a comb handy since you never know when you're gonna need those.
Lastly, I gave some accesories incase I run out the door and feel the need to accesorize!

Doctor Who Series 8 Episodes 1-5 Review Compilation

Okay so I know it's been a while since the first episode of S8 aired but I didn't get a chance to watch the new series until recently so I decided I would just review the first five in one post. After this I will try to review them as they come out and then I'll probably compile all the season 8 reviews into one post.

WARNING:  SPOILERS AHEAD

Episode 1: Deep Breath

This episode was just wow. I mean it wasn't an episode that was like "OMG this is amazing! asdfghjkl" *more fangirling* but it was a great start for Capaldi. At first I was kind of like ehh.. he's not that great, and it was also partially because he wasn't really there at the beginning that much, but after they met at the restaurant (scene pictured above) it started to get really good and I began to like Capaldi even more. I really liked the plot line. I don't know if this is just me, but 12 seems a little more violent/cruel. I'm not sure if this is because of the Scottishness or its because he's just lived through so much. My favorite part of the episode was probably the ending when we see the paradise lady thing. I am REALLY excited for there to be more development on that and I'm pretty sure that's going to be the season finale so I'm super excited for that!

Episode 2: Into the Dalek

Into the Dalek was a good episode and we got to know a bit more about Clara's life when she's not with the Doctor. I think 12 may be a bit funnier than the other doctors... Anyway I didn't really like the girl, Journey Blue that much but the plot was good. I really liked the idea of a good Dalek and how after the Doctor fixed the Dalek he does try to make him good again. I think it is important that the Doctor tries to be a good man. There is one part where the Dalek says that the doctor is a good Dalek, which at first I thought was cute, but then I realized that he could mean that the Doctor is  good at being evil like Daleks which made me wonder...
There's also that part where the "Heaven" thing is continued which made me very excited!

Episode 3: Robot of Sherwood

I saw a lot of pictures of the filming of this before it aired and I must say, Clara's outfit is really pretty. In this episode, the Doctor is definitely more sarcastic/funny. This episode kind of reminded me of a Classic Who episode- the one with the Second Doctor where they land in this land made of stories and fairy tales, so when the Doctor was saying that Robin wasn't real, I thought it would be kind of like that. This was a really good episode and I really liked it, though I wouldn't say it was my favorite so far. I also thought the robots from the spaceship might be some kind of modified Cybermen but I guess not.

Episode 4: Listen

This episode was super brilliant at the end! Just OMG! But there was a lot of stuff going on before that so let's get to that first. The beginning was kind of eerie with the Doctor talking about why you might talk to yourself when there's no one else there and all that but Clara's date was exciting! Though it didn't turn out very well in the beginning, I think I might ship Clara and Danny. ( I have no idea what their ship name is; I don't think there is one yet but I've heard Oswink... If you know please comment/email or contact us) I mean there is the thing about Orson Pink so... yeah I'm curious. Back to the plot: so I liked seeing Danny as a kid but that part where the creature came behind them was creepy. This was the creepiest episode so far but it wasn't too bad. I am curious to know if there were actually any creatures or if that was just Clara (as shown at the end) because the idea of creatures like that intrigues me...  Anyway the ending where they end up on (WARNING: TOTAL SPOILER ALERT RIGHT HERE EVEN IF YOU'VE BEEN READING THIS DESPITE ME WARNING YOU THAT THERE ARE SPOILERS, BUT IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ALL THE SPOILERS WITHOUT WATCHING THE EPISODE, BE MY GUEST) Gallifrey was really good and it was cool to see the barn where the doctor grew up. At first I thought it was Danny or even Orson who they were showing but then when I realize it was the Doctor... just it was so sad. I think that part makes you really connect to the Doctor even more.
On another note, I'm glad Clara's date worked out in the end!

Episode 5: Time Heist

This might be my favorite episode so far. The part where the phone rings and it's referenced how Clara got the Doctor's number was interesting and I think the heaven lady, Missy, gave the number to her because she said something in the first episode about a boyfriend and I think she may have a story line similar to River's. Anyway when at the beginning, the part where they end up at the bank was kind of confusing at first but as the story progressed it got interesting. I thought the Teller was kind of ugly but he reminded me of the Minotaur creature from the season 6 episode The God Complex. The fact that he, like, devoured people's minds was kind of cool but it looked really painful. The ending was nice and I liked the private vault. The Teller's planet looked really peaceful...  I really liked the action in this episode and it was fun to watch.

Also I thought I might comment on the new title sequence. I think the title sequence is really cool but the music isn't as melodic. So its okay... If you didn't know, it was inspired by a fan made sequence.

So I hope you liked this review! I will be posting tomorrow's episode's review sometime soon next week ( I hope!) but until then, there are some pictures below for you to enjoy!

Inside Out and Back Again

My Synopsis: A girl named Ha moves to Alabama from Vietnam because of the Vietnam War and she learns many new things...

Real Synopsis:
For all the ten years of her life, Hà has only known Saigon: the thrills of its markets, the joy of its traditions, and the warmth of her friends close by. But now the Vietnam War has reached her home. Hà and her family are forced to flee as Saigon falls, and they board a ship headed toward hope. In America, Hà discovers the foreign world of Alabama: the coldness of its strangers, the dullness of its food . . . and the strength of her very own family.

I don't know why I posted the actual synopsis instead of being lazy and giving you the link but :)

Review: This book was excellent! It is a Newberry Honor Book and a National Book Award winner which is definitely deserved. Its written poetically which I don't really know how to describe but I kind of like those books. Its written kind of  like Orchards by Holly Thompson if you've read that. This book is very beautiful and sweet and a definite reccomendation.

Next week's book is The Kid Table by Andrea Seigel

By  the way, if anyone knew, this week was banned books week check out more info about it here.
So if you're reading any banned books or have read any or just have any book recommendations, let us know by commenting!
The banned book I'm reading is The Color Purple by Alice Walker and I just finished Forever by Judy Blume.

Happy Reading!

Pasta 'n Greens

Last night for dinner I had this amazing pasta. It was rigatoni with green veggies and cheese. The veggies included broccoli roasted with spices, arugula, and avocado. The pasta was topped with shredded mozzarella cheese.

Rida's Reccomendations

1.Paper Towns by John Green
I haven't finished reading this book but I am hooked, I would definitely recommend reading this book!
Click Here for the review by Prachi

2.Everything Book
These are just notebooks that you write stuff in. Ideas,events,stories,lists..anything. These are a great way to write your thoughts down when you have one of those midnight ideas. Also, they become memory books after a while. I found one from 4th grade and me and my friend laughed as we fliped through the book.

3.Biking

I would reccomend biking anywhere. To school or work. (if possible) This really helps your stamina and also wakes you up in the morning.

That's all for this post!

Mimi

My synopsis: A girl named Mimi has recently lost her mother and her family is falling apart... but her aunts, uncles and grandparents help her build it back together...? Ok that's a terrible synopsis so just check it out below:

Review: This is a great book for children especially those who have had a loved one just die or a friend's loved one die. It's great to understand how to cope and it shows you despite the loss your family will stick together and survive.
There is also a sequel to this book called Tao which I have not yet read but if and when I do, I will review it.

Also sorry about the recent books being about death...
Next week's book which is Inside Out and Back Again by Thannha Lai  will be happier!

The Survival Kit

My Synopsis: A girl named Rose's mom dies of cancer and leaves her a "survival kit" which she uses to help her deal with her mother's death...

Review: This book was pretty good. I was expecting some different things but the surprises were nice. It's a nice book to understand how someone feels after a loved one's death.

Next week's book is Mimi by John Newman

Rida's Reccommendations!

Today I thought of starting a new series called Rida's Recommendation in which I would recommend some of the things I've been enjoying recently. It's kind of like a favourites post weekly instead of monthly. You can keep track and revisit JUST this series by click the label Rida's Recommendations.

1.AmazingPhil

In my free time I sometimes enjoy watching AmazingPhil's videos. He's super funny and realistic. Plus his edits are great! My personal favourite video is his May Favourites. You can check it out by clicking below!

2. The Maximum Ride Series
My wonderful friend recommended this series and let me tell you how much I have been loving this book. Usually a book takes a couple of chapters until you can't put it down but this book got right into it. In the first 3 chapters there was action and I immediately got hooked on. This book has short and sweet chapters that make you feel like you've accomplished something (don't deny it). For all you Marvel fans out there this is just like an x-men adventure!

3. Buffy The Vampire Slayer
The same friend told me about this and if you can't tell already I like supernatural and action . So, I obviously got hooked on immediately. This show is really good besides it's graphics. For a change of things a blonde girl is the main characters who kicks butt instead of that girl who's  story goes a little like this.
Blonde and her boyfriend think it's a good idea to go into an abandoned mental asylum for a date.
Blonde:"Honey, do you hear that?"
Blonde's Boyfriend "No Honey, it's nothing let's go in."
Monster follows them into mental asylum.
Monster: "Boo!"
Blonde dies of heart failure.
Blondes boyfriend gets shredded to pieces with monsters claw.

If you still don't believe me, watch this. :)

Hope you guys like this post!

Sunday Beauty Tip

Take extra care of your hair in the winter since it tends to dry out!

Safari West

Safari West is a place unlike another. If you disagree with that statement then tell me which place allows you to see animals from 5 inches away. Now I'm not talking about seeing animals from behind fences. I'm guessing that you don't so why don't I tell you a little more about my trip to Safari West.

Here are the giraffes that we saw during the safari. You can also see the jeeps that we sat on.

Our Safari started out as a drive jeeps from the Korean War in 1950. (They were re-done) All passengers took turns on sitting on the top bench if you wanted too. Then our lovely tour guide took us out on hills where we got to see all the animals!
Another giraffe sitting down. They are so cute!
This photo shows how close we were to the giraffe.

While we were on the safari we also visited some zebras!
 Teacher: "Cape Buffalo"
Cape Buffalo: "Present!"

After our adventure on the jeep we took walking tour to see some of our predators like cheetas and some birds. ,
Since we had taken the 1pm tour we had to eat lunch so my mom had packed some homemade burgers and we ate them near a small lake at Safari West that homed some flamingos!

Hope you  guys liked this post!

Landline

Synopsis: You know the drill: my attempt then a link to the good synopsis.
There's a woman named Georgie who's marriage is in trouble. She uses her mom's landline which is magical and.... read the book to find out what happens...

Review: This book was pretty good and there were funny parts, but it wasn't completely my style. I liked the ending and the concept of the magic phone. Georgie's life was pretty cool other than her marraige... I didn't really like how the story started to focus even more on the past towards the end, but other than that it was a good book.
I Give it 3 out of 5 stars.

I've reviewed other books by Rainbow Rowell which include Fangirl and Eleanor & Park. Check them out in our Book Reviews section!

Next Friday's book is The Suvival Kit by Donna Freitas

Have fun reading!

Jyun Kang Vegetarian Restaurant Review

Last weekend my family and I went to the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas which is a Buddhist Monastery. We ate at the Jyun Kang Vegetarian Restaurant which was the only restaurant. I know it says its a vegetarian restaurant but it was actually vegan, which was great since i'm vegetarian.

You know how at a restaurant they give you water (usually cold with ice) when you arrive and are looking at the menu? Instead, they gave us steaming hot green tea which was an interesting change.

I don't drink tea that much but it was good, though it was personally hard to drink right away since it was so hot...

We ordered 4 items which were : Crispy Noodles with Mixed Vegetables, Golden Balls with Ginger, Sauteed Eggplant with Basil, and Fried Japanese Style Noodles and Mixed Vegetables.

Crispy Noodles with Mixed Vegetables:

The noodles are kind of covered in this picture but you can see some under the vegetables. The vegetables included are carrots, baby corn, leeks, mushrooms, zucchini, and bell peppers. I loved the crispness of the noodles and the vegetables were delicious. There was a little bit of watery sauce stuff which had too much soy sauce.

Golden Balls with Ginger:

So these are soy chunks which were soaked in some type of ginger sauce and then garnished with little pieces of shredded ginger. I loved the texture of these and you could really taste the ginger flavor but these were way too salty. I'm not a big fan of salt so the saltyness kind of ruined the dish. I would say this might have been my least favourite dish.

Sauteed Eggplant with Basil:

This was my favorite dish. It was eggplant curried with basil and it was so aromatic. We ordered some white rice to eat with it and I also ate it with the Fried Japanese Style Noodles and Mixed Vegetables but it was great on its own too. The flavor and aroma of the basil was delicious and it had just the right amount of soy sauce.

Fried Japanese Style Noodles and Mixed Vegetables:
This was my second favorite dish partly because of the size of the noodles. The vegetables in it were delicious and the texture of the noodles. THE NOODLES... This dish was really good and it didn't have an overload of vegetables.

I just love these two pics that I took of the Noodles...

So I definitely recommend this place. I would give it 3.7 out of 5 stars and some smileys cuz it was vegan/vegetarian. Hope you liked the review!
